Nice! She looks a lot better! Were they supposed to paint the wings?

I flew on N661US (ship number 6301) on a business trip earlier this year. I talked a lot with a flight attendant who was a real 747 fan and expert. Pretty neat.

I'm happy it's headed to the Delta museum, and I'll be taking my 8 year old 747 fan to see it, but in a way it's a shame it's not going to be preserved in Minneapolis or at least in Northwest livery. Delta didn't have much love for NWs 747 after they acquired them. And they looked better in NWs silver livery too.

Now that’s funny. Airlines are noted for serving the worst food in the world. That’s going to be a tough mountain to climb, or are we just talking peanuts and drinks?

The wings do get painted from time to time. Since it will be outside it makes sense to protect the whole thing.

The 747s are a tough plane to keep flying. They are covered in Airworthiness Directives and the touch time per flight hour is pretty high compared to the rest of the fleet. The hours on the airfares are getting high as well, so it is time.

There is no good place to put it in MSP. The museum has a few legacy NWA aircraft as well, so they do cover the history.

Well, things have improved quite a bit over the last several years when it comes to food.

I was at the museum a few months ago, and I don’t remember any NW aircraft, except maybe DC-9 in the parking lot, which is in DL colors.

Big props, btw, to the staff there who are wonderful. My kids got a special treat when they were invited to fly the 737 flight sim for free.

There are two of the old fabric planes in there. One is in the theater if I remember correctly.

Very cool that you guys got to fly the sim. I've never done that!
